3. Why Do We Collect Your Data? (Purpose of Collection)
We do not collect data aimlessly. Every piece of information we request is tied to a specific operational, administrative, or legal purpose necessary to provide and improve our Services.
3.1 Why We Collect Personal Details (Name, Age, Gender, Contact Info)
- Account Creation and Management: To register you as a user, verify your identity, and maintain your user profile.
- Communication: To communicate with you about your account, respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and send administrative messages (such as changes to our terms or policies).
- Service Fulfillment: To facilitate the booking of appointments, whether physical (Van Camps) or digital (Telemedicine), and to ensure that the healthcare provider knows who they are treating.
- Verification: To ensure that users meet age requirements and to prevent fraudulent activities.

3.3 Why We Collect Medical and Health Data
- Creating a Personal Health Record (PHR): To build a comprehensive, secure electronic health record that acts as a single source of truth for your health journey on our platform.
- Informed Consultations: To allow doctors, specialists, and health workers to review your medical history, chronic conditions, and recent lab tests *before* and *during* a consultation, ensuring they provide accurate, contextualized care.
- Personalized Wellness: To offer customized Ayurvedic health insights, dosha assessments, and wellness plans tailored specifically to your physical and physiological profile.
3.4 Why We Send Notifications

4. Where Do We Collect Your Data From?
The information we process is gathered from multiple touchpoints across your journey with Alakart Bio Pharma.

- Patient Discretion: Any medical decisions, treatments undertaken, or medications consumed are strictly the result of a private doctor-patient relationship formed between you and the consulting healthcare provider.
6. How Do We Protect Your Data? (Security Safeguards)
We understand that health data is the most intimate data you can share. We are fiercely committed to maintaining the privacy and security of the information uploaded by you. We comply with industry-standard security safeguards.
- Encryption: We use advanced encryption protocols (such as RLS) to protect data in transit between your mobile device and our secure servers. Sensitive data at rest (such as passwords and medical records) is encrypted using robust cryptographic algorithms.
- Access Controls: We implement strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Your medical records are only accessible to you and the specific healthcare providers you are currently consulting. Alakart employees do not have casual access to your personal medical records; access is restricted to authorized personnel on a strict "need-to-know" basis for system maintenance or legal compliance.
- Infrastructure Security: Our databases are hosted on secure, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure (Supabase and Google Cloud) that employs continuous monitoring, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular vulnerability assessments.
- User Responsibility: While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for any access to or use of the App using your password. 7. Disclosure and Transfer of Your Data (Who We Share It With)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
7.1 Healthcare Providers
If you are a patient, your Personal Information, Medical History, and current health data will be shared with the specific doctors, specialists, and health workers with your consent to whom you choose to consult or book appointments with through the App. This is essential for them to provide you with medical care.
7.2 Legal Requirements and Law Enforcement
We may disclose your Personal Information in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation, court order, subpoena, or statutory requirement.
- Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Alakart Bio Pharma, our users, or the public.
- Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, illegal activities, or violations of our Terms of Service.
8. Data Retention: How Long Will We Retain Your Data?
We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
- Active Accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active to provide you with seamless access to your health history and our Services.
- Legal Obligations: We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, medical records retention laws often require data to be kept for several years even after service cessation), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
- Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account, we will initiate the deletion of your Personal Information from our active databases. However, please note that complete removal may take some time due to backup cycles, and we may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data indefinitely for research and statistical purposes. We may also retain specific transactional data to prevent fraud or future abuse.
